Access Information

Emergency: The building has clearly marked exits, fire alarms in the hallways and workshop room that flash and make noise, and emergency medical supplies including an AED emergency defibrillator. There are multiple emergency exit maps throughout the building. In addition, QWOCMAP has our own safety protocols and incident response.

Wheelchair Access: The Tides Center and all restrooms are wheelchair accessible. The front of the building has 2 accessible entrances. The back parking lot entrance has stairs and a ramp. You can find directions to the workshop venue here.

Event Space: The event will be conducted in a conference room with many windows. We can raise and lower the shades as well as open and close some windows.

Mobility: There are rolling conference room chairs inside the event space, and there are folding chairs without arms available. If needed, there is one big & tall rolling office chair with adjustable arms for use.

Restrooms: Restrooms in 1014 are located around the corner, and are open to the Tides community. There are also public restrooms located near the 1012 entrance. These bathrooms are much roomier and therefore would be easier to navigate with powered wheelchairs. Tides policy welcomes you to use the restroom that best aligns with your gender. Unfortunately, we are not able to designate any of the restrooms as All Genders Welcome.

Fragrance Free: The building is not entirely fragrance free, the bathrooms in particular use scented cleaning products. QWOCMAP will run an air purifier and replace the restroom hand soap with fragrance free soap for the duration of the event.

Quiet Spaces: There is also a lounge with soft armchairs, cushioned ottomans, and benches called the Tide Pool, which can be used as a comfortable quiet space if needed.

EMF Safety: The entire building has free public WI-FI. There are fluorescent lights throughout the entire building including the event space. QWOCMAP will use natural sunlight as much as possible.

Service Animals: Due to severe allergies and space limitations, we cannot accommodate service animals at this time.
